The south point of the pentagram (or star) is also missing. The point would be at or near Pennsylvania Avenue, a short distance north of the White House. However, the streets that form the lines of the pentagram stop at H street, a block above the missing point. The absence of a point conforms with the original plan for the City of Washington, which was made in the early 1790's.
