She befriended and mentored students who were outcasts. She had tea with Eleanor Roosevelt, in the White House, to discuss her idea of establishing a student government in public high schools.

    There was a shooting (possibly a murder, I forget) around here back in 2008 or so. The suspect fled through this apartment building and when the police pursued him the residents blocked them and threatened them, one with a baseball bat. Classy.
